Key Equipment Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Key Equipment & Supply Co. celebrated its 60th Anniversary on Thursday, September 29th. The party was at the beautiful Montelle Winery in Augusta, Missouri. Nearly all our current employees were in attendance along with several customers, vendors, manufacturers, and friends. The Well Hungarians Band played music-Steve Hyink even joined in on the drums. Key surprised everyone with a beautiful fireworks display at the end of the night. A big thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us! We are looking forward to many more years as Key Equipment & Quality Rents.
ELGIN REGENX ADDED TO UG’S KC, KS FLEET

KCK is a growing community with residential, commercial, and industrial development projects throughout our city. We have the Missouri and Kansas rivers surrounding our community. Street Sweeping is a crucial tool to clean our streets for appearance and to assure our storm sewer inlets and combined sewer system works properly to prevent flooding. We added the regenerative air Elgin RegenX to our fleet of Elgin mechanical Pelican sweepers to give us more flexibility in sweeping. We’ll send mechanical sweepers out to the heavy/bulky sweeping areas and utilize the RegenX for fine sweeping particles. The powerful air knife will help scour debris from the cracks in the street surface for our asphalt crews to follow with crack sealing to lengthen the life of our streets.
We worked with the team at Key Equipment and Elgin Sweeper Co. to add an innovative herbicide sprayer to the machine. Concrete curbs are one of our most expensive assets within a municipality. Vegetation in the curb line is detrimental to these expensive curbs. Continued growth allows moisture inside the cracks and the freeze/thawing causes continued damage. The new weed sprayer enhancement and the Piranha side broom attachments, combined, help tackle this expensive problem. We’ve added the Monarch’s themed wrap to this new sweeper. This continues a long history of us wrapping our sweepers with our local tourist attraction themes. Our community enjoys seeing these themed machines sweep through our community!

Parts Customer Service Representative
Jeff Gibson is celebrating his 20th Anniversary at Key Equipment & Supply Company in November of 2022. When asked about his work longevity at Key, Jeff explained, “Every day is a challenge, some days more than others. Helping new hires and veteran employees never gets old.” In his spare time, Jeff enjoys watching sports, fishing, and anything outdoors. He especially loves spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great- grandkids. Jeff laughed, “Not sure if they are keeping me young or aging me.”
