Equipment Service Mechanic
Job Description
- Position: Equipment Service Mechanic
- Location: Key Equipment St. Louis Office
- Education: Technician School / Previous Service Technician experience
- Compensation: Hourly based on experience ($25.00 – $35.00 per hour)

Summary
Leading equipment distribution company with branches located in Kansas City and St. Louis and a large established customer base requires an Equipment Service Mechanic for our St. Louis, MO branch. The Equipment Service Mechanic will work directly with the company’s parts staff, service staff, and sales team to support and assist our customer base with their service work and needs, troubleshooting, and PDI of new units sold out of the St. Louis location. This position supports Key Equipment’s strategy to continue our growth in the contractor and municipal segment of our business.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for working on customer equipment in our St. Louis branch. The successful candidate will work with the service department’s service manager to establish the parts needs for repairs and determine the best repair for each customer unit running through the shop. Must be able to work synergistically with others and in a team atmosphere.
A successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as with the internal team to achieve company goals. Assist with on-site installation, repairs, maintenance, and testing
Diagnose technical problems, determine proper solutions, and repair issues
Ability to communicate with employees and customers effectively and in a timely manner

Produce timely and detailed service reports
Learn and apply practical field knowledge daily
Have a strong mechanical knowledge of all equipment Key Equipment sells and services
Have the mechanical ability to repair all equipment Key Equipment sells
Be a leader in the marketplace, known as a knowledgeable resource and asset
Limit customer downtime due to service or parts delays with full communication with the St. Louis service and parts manager
Follow the company’s policies and procedures
Cooperate with the company’s technical team and share information across the organization
Follow management team direction in regards to company policy and procedure
Attend company-based trainings on-site or at vendor locations to maintain knowledge of new products and product changes
Maintain and clean a safe work space
Ability to lift 75 pounds, previous service experience, and arrive on time daily ready to work

Territory Manager

Sell environmental and industrial equipment to Key Equipment’s customers in the region

Continue to establish territory mapping of equipment in the field and focus on customer calls on location

Establish a relationship with all the company’s manufacturers and vendors

Map the territory to maximize profit and customer satisfaction

Maintain company inventory that is assigned to the position in good order
